It was the "Controlled Folder Access" function under the Virus & Threat Protection section of Windows Security in Windows 10. Its a big shame, because I played the game for 3 or 4 hours the first time and was really enjoying it before I found out that none of my progress had been saved. I did double check, user "dave" has full admin privileges and also has Full Control of all folders in question. Still no luck with saves after disabling those, so its seems that they were not preventing save files or folders from being created. I did take your advice and disabled both MalwareBytes as well as the Windows Defender virus protection, and the Windows Firewall. And even when I create one called "TRANSFORMERS_Devastation" in that folder, it still doesn't save anything after I try the game. So if a save folder is supposed to be there, it was never created.
When I go to c:\users\dave\documents there is nothing in there except folder My Games. It seems like the game is not creating a save folder at all. So I reinstalled again back to C:\ just to be safe. The game ran fine from the new drive, but saving still didn't work. The game is installed in C:\ but just in case, I tried uninstalling and saving to a separate drive I have for storage. It seems like the game is either not saving, is saving but has nowhere to keep the file so it doesn't know what to load when I restart the game, the saves are getting deleted somehow, or there are some issues with permissions or something.ĭr Gori, thanks so much for the kind response, good ideas. I did search for this topic and tried the fixes that I could find ion this forum and others, but nothing is working so far. I haven't had any problems with other Steam games. I'm on Windows 10 and don't have any weird folder settings or anything.
Also, my game settings (like resolution and full-screen/windowed) are also not saved. I have to start from the beginning every time. Even though the Red Autobot logo spins indicating an autosave during the game, once I quit out and reload the game there is no progress saved. I'm having an issue where the game will not save.
